We're 3rd generation scrap metal merchants. D. J Craddock and Sons was 1st set up in 1943 by Darrel Craddock, He was one of the 1st processors of scrap metal in the midlands area, using one of the 1st 'shearing' machines. Through the years the site has undergone many changes but it is the current proprietor, Adrian Craddock, Darrel Craddock's grandson, who has had the vision and experience to really build and evolve a modern and efficient waste metal recycling plant.

Drivers are requested to drive their vehicles onto the weighbridge before reporting to the site office to have the weight of their load recorded and the types of metal confirmed. Their vehicle can then be unloaded and re-weighed to work out weight and payment of scrap metal. All of our staff are fully trained in operating the weighbridge. Our weighbridge is calibrated to EC regulations, and holds a current Certificate of Conformity.
