David Kynaston and Andy Russell set off to the Circuit of Ireland with anticipation and caution, its reputation for being a tough event. Not havingt run in the event before, all the stages were new to them, so some hard work making notes on recce days. Many changes had been made to the car too since the opening round at Epynt, new brakes, anti- roll bars, power steering which had failed in Wales, and lowering the gearing. SS1 was a nice opening stage, if slightly cautious, testing the car at home is not the same as on a competitive stage.
