The Examination
read moreAt Crompton Opticians we place a high emphasis on clinical care and perform not only an "eye test" but a thorough examination of your eyes both internally and externally. We invest continually in the newest technology to provide the most up to date screening and investigative techniques including retinal photography, visual field assessment, binocular vision assessment and glaucoma and cataract screening. If you require a prescription for spectacles after your NHS eye examination then again you may be eligible for help towards the cost of your spectacles.
Spectacle Lenses
read moreAt Crompton Opticians we only use the best quality lens products from Zeiss, Essilor & Crizal Tranistion. Technology advances at a rapid pace and our aim is to combine aesthetic appearance and superb visual performance to match the individual requirements of your prescription. Single Vision lenses are the most common lens type. They are used to correct one type of vision, long sight, short sight, reading vision or astigmatism. Varifocal Lenses are also known as progressive lenses. They give complete vision at all distances, without the telltale dividing line of bifocals.

Sports Eyewear
read moreChoosing the right eye protection for sport is as vital as choosing the right equipment and accessories. More often than not eyes are at risk from injury through sport. Our sports vision range has been selected to ensure that eye injury is eliminated whilst ensuring that maximum vision is maintained under the most extreme conditions, whatever the sport or prescription. The importance to choosing the right eyewear for cycling is vital. Providing not only enhanced visibility but just as importantly, eye protection.
Work Vision
read moreIn the 21st century working environment it is getting harder to avoid having to use a computer. This can be through an optician using a recognised voucher scheme or they can reimburse you for your eye examination. The act states that if a "Special" corrective appliance is required for the viewing of a display screen then the company is to pay a reasonable amount to cover the cost of a basic pair of spectacles to fulfil the task. From 6th April 2006 no tax charge will arise where an employer provides an eye examination or corrective spectacles for an employee.
