Cobtree Manor Park Golf Club

In 1971 the Trust of the estate of Sir Garrard Tyrwhitt-Drake entered into an agreement with Maidstone Borough Council where Cobtree Manor and estate were leased to the Council for a period of 999 years. In return for a peppercorn rent, the Council is responsible for maintaining the estate as an open space and responsible for all maintenance costs. The Cobtree Manor Park Golf Course was developed over 130 acres of the some 300 acres leased.
