read moreWe are an independent, private language school where you get lots of personal attention and where you will feel at home right from the beginning. Please complete our online assessment test before you travel to the UK so we can inform you your level before you arrive and place you into a suitable class. If you are unable to do the online placement test before your arrival, our support staff will arrange for the text on your fist day with us. On your first day we will arrange a speaking test to confirm your level.

read moreYou can begin your course at City School of English on any Monday and you should stay for a minimum of two weeks. If you are a beginner (CEFR A1), we recommend you start your course at the beginning of a new term. CSL divides the year into four terms: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. Each term lasts 12 or 13 weeks. At the end of each term we have an end of course test and if you pass this test, you will be promoted to the next English level.

CSL will give you as much visa information as possible, but it is your responsibility to find out if you need a visa to study at CSL and to apply in the correct way for the visa you need. You can check if you need a visa by contacting your local British Embassy or by checking the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) website. Those classed as 'non-visa nationals' are not required to apply in advance unless they are looking to study an English language course over 6 months.
