It is believed that golf was played on our land over one hundred years ago, when most of the Halton area was owned by Alfred de Rothschild, one of the three fabulously wealthy brothers who settled in the area. At this time the course was just six holes. Shortly after the First World War the land was acquired by the War Office as a training camp for the fledgling RAF. During the Second World War, the famous professional Henry Cotton was stationed at RAF Halton and at this time he added three further holes and made other improvements to the course.
