Set up in 1870 in Macclesfield, the Cheshire was one of the 1st Permanent Societies which began a revolution in individual finance. The Cheshire's 1st merger was in 1969 when it merged with the Northwich Building Society. This was followed by a series of smaller mergers through the 1970's and 80's. The branch network now extends throughout the North West and includes 42 building society branches and 13 estate agency branches. However, we operate nationally following the successful launch of our Internet channel and Customer Contact Centre.
