About Us
read moreThe club started over 30 years ago and was based at Dovedale Sports Centre, Vicarage Road, Chelmsford. Julie Belemore, became Head Coach of the club in 1992. When Julie took over, the club had 20 girls, training on two badminton courts on a Saturday. We now have over 1,000 gymnasts training throughout the week at our dedicated facility which opened in April 2012. We have had funding from Sport England for our sprung floor, rings, parallel bars and pommel horse. Our asymmetric bars were funded by Jack Petchy.
Classes
read morePre-school gymnasts train for 45 minutes per session. The sessions are primarily aimed at improving co-ordination and balance, using the gym equipment to encourage better co-ordination, strength and flexibility in the child. The emphasis is on fun! British Gymnastics has advised that coaches should not physically support gymnasts, we therefore require parents to be available to offer support to their child if needed. Parents that are present in either preschool parent and toddler classes or parents/carers/helpers that may be present during disability specific sessions must work in groups of six only and groups should not be changed during the session.
