Set in it's own parkland opposite Chartley Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned, this Grade II half timbered Elizabethan manor house, is according to numerous guests, a rare find. Push open the studded front door to discover panelled walls, a terracotta dining room and a lot of oak beams. In the Sudbury yellow drawing room are the family portraits and exquisite furniture. The bed rooms are huge airy and flower filled with many of interesting books. The four poster room is oak paneled and has a secret door to the bath room.
