Tom started his career as a Science teacher in 2005 after gaining his degree in Chemistry and PGCSE from the University of Nottingham. In 2008 he obtained a prestigious post as an 'Advanced Skills Teacher for Science', employed by the local authority to work with schools on improving Science education in secondary schools throughout Hertfordshire. Throughout this time he combined his focus on Science education with an in-depth understanding of the learning process, obtaining his Masters in Education from the University of Cambridge in 2009. In 2013 Tom was selected as part of a small group by the UK Government to visit the Shanghai region of China and write a report on Chinese practices in Science education. He has recently moved to the Bath area following a highly successful two years as Director of Science at the British International School of Boston, working with Scientists from both Harvard and MIT on improving ties with the International education sector.
