Cambridge Early Music
read moreCambridge Early Music runs a lively education programme for all ages - central to which are our Summer Schools - and a series of concerts throughout the year in historic Cambridge venues. Our distinguished and much loved director of the Baroque Summer School, Professor Peter Holman, has announced his retirement after the Baroque Summer School of 25 July - 1 August 2021, after more than 25 years' association with Cambridge Early Music. We shall miss him very much but we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Laurence Cummings as the new Baroque Summer School Director from Summer 2022 onwards.

To give you some idea of the amounts involved, the full course fee for the 2015 summer schools was 760 for full board in a single room with shared bath/shower. Support the wider work of Cambridge Early Music by providing vital financial assistance and help us to share the gift of music both now and in the future.
History
read moreCambridge Early Music was founded in 1993 as Cambridge Early Music Summer Schools (CEMSS) by Selene Webb ne Mills on her return to Cambridge. Selene had graduated in Classics from Selwyn College Cambridge in 1982 where she was an Academic and Choral Scholar and had spent some time working in Colchester and London and then at the Benslow Music Trust in Hitchin as Course Secretary. Selene's vision was to provide intensive study weeks with inspirational, world-leading experts in the field of historically informed early music performance practice situated in the heart of the historic centre of Cambridge.
