Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust

The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) assists people regain the skills lost as a result of brain injury - whether caused by road accident, assault, stroke or illness. Our involvement may begin once someone with an acquired brain injury leaves hospital and is medically stable. We provide a array of services designed to understand the requirements of people at different stages of rehabilitation - from assessment to comprehensive rehabilitation, long-term housing and care, and community-based support. We currently offer rehabilitation services to around 550 service users. All our programmes follow a neurobehavioural approach.
