Boat Lane Court was founded in 1991 and was designed as a dedicated retirement home for the elderly. It is situated in Northenden, a conservation area four miles to the South of the City of Manchester. Boat Lane Court is set around landscaped gardens, with ample car parking space incorporated. There are fifty four apartments, on three floors; all are accessible both by stairs and lifts. The Court is close to Palatine Road, which has a huge array of shopping facilities as well as a Post Office and a Medical Centre. The local theatre is within walking distance, and swimming pools and cinemas are a short drive away. The mobile library calls every month and there is a fresh fish delivery every Tuesday. A visiting Chiropodist and a prescription delivery service are all available to any owners who wish to use them.
