read moreWe have helped hundreds of American and non-American citizens with their US Notary requirements. Each US State has its own rules as to how documents should be notarised. These rules usually set out what should be done if a document for use in a specific State is to be signed and Notarised outside of the State and outside of the United States. In some cases, additional steps may need to be taken. A few States have particular specifications (such as the need for an Apostille). An Apostille is an official certificate from the UK Government which confirms that a Notary is duly licensed to practice in England and Wales and are issued by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

Here is a short guide to help you understand what may be required in different parts of the world, why certain steps are required and how we can help you overcome these obstacles. In these instances, once you have the notary's signature and seal on the document this is enough. This is the case in the vast majority of former or current British Commonwealth countries and most US states.

The actions your attorney will take and the legal documents which the attorney will sign on your behalf, will likely end up in a public authority of some sort, for example, a Court or Land Registry. It will be this final recipient of the documents who will request that, the Power of Attorney is notarised, and legalised, if necessary.
Legalisation
read moreWe can help you not only with the notarisation of your documents, but also with further legalisation, whether by way of apostille, consular legalisation, or a combination of legalisation at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and further stamping at the relevant consulate. If you are in doubt about what any of these terms mean please see our FAQS or see below. You can of course take care of all legalisation work yourself. After seeing your notary, you can then get that notary stamp, seal and signature confirmed by taking it yourself to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and (if needed) the relevant consulate.

Whether you are working abroad or furthering your education, we are here to help you to get it right and no mater the destination, we have a package to suit you. Overseas Authorities such as immigration offices, employers or universities want to know that your award is from a UK Institution and reliable. They require a Notary to either verify the award or certify a true copy of the original.
